Cambridge Collegian Builds His Own Car During Spare Time
Paul Austin, a Cambridge Collegian, built a 1964 custom built vehicle described as a hot rod. He registered it after NY motor vehicle approval, but he won’t race it. The project took about a year and $500 with help from Horace Maxwell and Fred Bovie, aided by his parents’ support and two scholarships. Austin studies automotive technology at Hudson Community College and hopes to design mobile transportation in the future, possibly by 1974.
