Mitchell admits talks on bugging and espionage

Former Attorney General John N. Mitchell said he attended yearlong meetings where bugging and political espionage against the Democrats were discussed but he had no prior knowledge of the Watergate break in. He acknowledged meetings but did not identify participants or timing, and defended prior denials as still operative. Watergate investigations and related testimony continue as scrutiny widens.

Suit to challenge capital gains. Kennedy cites two flaws

Barre attorney Richard Davis plans a Washington County suit challenging Vermont capital gains tax within Gov Salman’s property tax relief package. The action argues the tax violates constitutional rules on revenue measures originating in the House and is a confiscatory tax levied on a tax.
