Four Die in Danby Air Crash Near Dorset Mountain

Four people died when a single engine plane en route from Glens Falls New York to Portland Maine crashed on Dorset Mountain in southwestern Vermont. Authorities recovered the bodies from very rough terrain after daylight recon and ground teams reached the scene. The pilot was tentatively identified as Kenneth Siver of Yarmouth Maine and two adults with two children were aboard. FAA and state officials opened an on site investigation as more than 50 searchers assisted in the effort.

Patricia Hearst tied to SLA bank robbery in San Francisco

Nixon predicts hard evidence will prove innocence before panel

A high White House official says Nixon will turn over hard evidence to the House Judiciary Committee to prove his innocence in the Watergate cover up. He expects verbatim transcripts from tapes and says he will not resign if impeached, planning to travel to Moscow for a summit in late June. He notes the response may not satisfy investigators but will include all evidence of the President's actions.

Bennington Pownal Woodford approve apportionment plan
