Five Area Residents Die In Weekend Auto Accidents
Five Bennington area residents died in three highway crashes during a 27 hour period over Easter weekend. The toll included two teens, a three month new husband, and a middle aged couple with eight children. Springfield youths Diarmuid S OBrien and John W Jepson were killed in separate crashes in New York state, while Van W Marcoux, Harry C Stark and Elsa Stark died in crashes near Hoosick Falls and the Vermont border. Several others were hospitalized or treated for injuries in Putnam Memorial and nearby facilities. Funeral notices for Marcoux were reported.
