Drugs in Manchester reveals chilling school findings
Manchester Elementary School directors heard a stark report on drug use after a workshop arranged by Ruth Renaudette Hawes with the New York Boulevard Center. Workshop leaders, ex addicts or parents, warned of widespread marijuana use, easy access to heroin and speed, and minimal parent child communication. They urged adult education and confidential youth counseling, and Hawes sought a salaried counselor as the board reacted with surprise at the note that hard drugs were obtainable.
