Old Bennington trustees will study measures to cut runoff entering the village sewer and interceptor system as a prerequisite to the town taking over the systems of three villages. The May 14 Village Meeting may include an article authorizing the transfer terms. the May option hinges on surface water control success in the Town Hill area.
Mrs Jane R Hanks Cornell anthropologist spoke to the Bennington County Nurses Association at Paradise Restaurant on how Thai religious beliefs shape pregnancy, delivery and postpartum behavior. She urged medical staff to understand customs to encourage hospital care. About 40 attended. candy sale planned for fund raising and scholarships.

Trustees of the Bennington Graded School District vote to send a letter of appreciation to Bernard J. McNaney for years of voluntary service promoting youth programs. McNaney, a former American Legion commander, has organized funds and logistics for Boys State participation and supported youth activities while ill at home.
The Baptist Woman's Society named officers for the coming year at Tuesday's meeting led by Mrs. H S Moses. New officers include president Mrs H Glenn Payne vice president Mrs Paul Hurlburt secretary Mrs Lewis Carpenter treasurer Miss Mabel Harris and auditor Mrs Francis Morrissey.
