White House offer fails to halt Nixon tapes subpoena
The White House made a last minute offer to the House Judiciary Committee to provide some tapes but Democrats on the 38 member panel moved to subpoena all 41 tapes. St. Clair proposed partial delivery but the panel, voting 21 to 17 along party lines, kept the drive for full production. Dean Burch indicated some evidence could be shared, but St. Clair retained control over which items are released.

Food program for mothers and children begins delays end
A federal nutrition program for expectant mothers infants and children is starting in Vermont after delays. The plan includes home delivery of milk and other foods with eligibility handled by Susan Johnson through the Bennington Home Health Agency. Funds approved for Vermont total 857000 for fiscal year 1974 with a federal extension to June 30 1975. The program will include full medical evaluations in four of 39 clinic areas conducted by the University of North Carolina.
