Union Carbide plans 22 000 sq ft expansion at St Albans plant
Union Carbide Corp. announced a 22 000 square foot expansion to its St. Albans facility north of the business district on U8 7. Neville Armitage, head of employment relations, said continued growth drives the add on a single story steel and masonry building sized 175 by 183 feet. No new jobs expected. plant now employs about 500 with Eveready lighting devices as main product. The addition will house production warehousing shipping and receiving functions.
