LBJ undecided about tossing first ball at opener
Washington UPI report states President Lyndon B. Johnson may attend the 1966 American League opener in Washington to throw out the first ball. Commissioner William Eckert said Johnson has not given a definite commitment, noting a busy schedule. If he cannot attend, the ball and glove will be given to the President Monday. The last time a president skipped the opener was 1960 with Nixon. Johnson has previously tossed the first ball in 1961, 1962, and 1963.
