Lobbyists urge no action on pending insurance bills
Two Vermont lobbyists and Sen. John L. Cain urged the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee to keep the current rate fixing law and oppose new bills. Carbine described the Purdy Cook bill as too strong and the Cain bill as too extreme, seeking a middle ground. Brown warned similar laws in other states raise personnel needs, and both urged testimony from Insurance Commissioner James H. Hunt.
