Price Index of Wholesale Goods Drops for Fourth Straight Month

The U S Labor Department reported a 0.6 percent fall in the Wholesale Price Index in March, marking its fourth consecutive decline and the first such streak since 1963. Bennington Planning Commission Reconsiders Zoning Proposals

After a four hour session the Bennington Planning Commission voted to send advisory recommendations to the selectmen. They kept RR 40 rural residential along West Road and Route 7 south BC 40 to the Pownal line, and left the desert RR 40 instead of MR 6. They also kept RC 40 proposals with specific removals on Route 9 by Old Bennington and near the Route 7 intersection with the new access road. A corollary motion urged Route 7 south to remain RC 40 to the Pownal line. The vote featured tie-breaks and abstentions, with members stressing advisory role and public input. Discussion touched on planned unit developments and Mt. Anthony Country Club condominium plans.
