Hodges Sees Hope for Senators in 1964 Despite Doubt
Washington manager Gil Hodges vows the Senators will not finish last in the American League in 1964. He cites additions Bill Skowron and Marshall Bridges and bases his optimism on veterans used to winning, though pitching and power remain concerns. He highlights outfielders Don Lock Chuck Hinton Jim King and rookie Fred Valentine with Lock as the key hitter, while Hinton and King posted strong 1963 numbers with room to improve.
