At the Monday meeting Dr. P J Wiedemann led a report on assets and lease terms. A composite offer valued buildings at £12,000 and proposed £6,400 plus options, with Health Centre and Sale yards terms discussed and largely rejected while the Hall was excluded.
A Wednesday evening Shower Tea at St James Hall celebrated Miss Old and her fiancé with piano music by Mr. A Saunders and Mr. D H Ferrier presiding as chairman. The couple, accompanied by Miss Old and her father, received warm congratulations and best wishes for life ahead. Dr W H Lonie commented on rate considerations and goodwill for the district.
