Retired After 42 Years Service Honored by Guards
W B G Read of Cunningham Street Benalla retires at 65 after 42 years in the goods guard role. Workmates in the VKI rooms Sunday presented a wallet as a token of esteem. Les Kelly, president of the Benalla Guards Guild, praised Read’s 24 years as a mate and friend and wished him a long retirement. Eight guards joined in the well wishing before Read spoke in return.
