Simons Funeral Held for Mrs Wesley Simons
Funeral services for Mrs. Wesley Simons of St Paul and former Bemidji resident were conducted at McKee Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon with Rev Stephen Knudsen officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood cemetery. Mrs Simons died June 16 and was a former Northern school principal and teacher. Her husband and daughter and several grandchildren attended from St Paul Minneapolis Grand Rapids and Bemidji along with siblings and other relatives.
Bemidji Grads Celebrate University Commencement at State Fair
The all University commencement at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds honored 4,713 graduates including Robert D. Saeger Paul Bengtson and Richard Street with Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees and Lawrence Cairns Revel Martinson Doctor of Medicine. Mary Matuseski received a bachelor of science in pharmacy, Dana Isaacson graduated with distinction in dentistry, and James Naylor earned a bachelor of chemical engineering. President Malcolm Moos and Jack Baker spoke as ceremonies noted that 4,154 undergraduates and 559 master and PhD recipients led the diverse class.
