Eight Die As Downtown Fire Tears Through International Falls
A two story building in International Falls Minnesota burned in the early hours killing eight residents and injuring three others. Fire officials said seven bodies were recovered and an eighth victim Tammy Lyon died later at a hospital. The blaze began around 1 30 a m and was under control by 7 a m. The building housed apartments upstairs and several businesses on the first floor. Fire officials warned the toll could rise as more victims remained unaccounted for.
