Intruder Shot After Scaling White House Fence
A cab driver Chester M. Plummer 30 was shot and killed on the White House lawn after scaling the fence and threatening guard Pvt. Charles A. Garland with a three foot pipe. Garland fired a single shot felling Plummer about 60 feet from the eight foot fence.
