Government data show wholesale farm prices jumped 6.8 percent in December the largest monthly gain in 26 years driven by crop weather damage. Grain prices surged 21.1 percent and eggs 16.9 percent while fruits and vegetables fell 5.1 percent.

A ski masked man robbed the Stevens IGA at 609 South St South, escaping with about $400 after threatening the cashier. Beltrami County Register of Deeds reminds motorists that January 10 is the deadline to purchase 1973 vehicle registrations without penalty.
