Cattle rustlers using helicopter link up in Minnesota thefts
Moose Lake area ranchers report four head stolen from an 85 head herd last month. Sheriff Terry Twomey says an unmarked olive-green helicopter is seen over cattle as professional rustlers operate with radio linked trucks. Losses in Carleton County total over a dozen head this year worth about $10,000 amid higher beef prices and meat shortages. Ranchers form patrols to deter thefts, hoping rustlers “really earn” the cattle.
