Samuel Little of West Tih street narrowly escaped death when a loose horse bolted toward a moving Monen freight train at a crossing. He stopped the animal, risking himself as the horse zigzagged past the track. Little suffered only bruises after the near miss as the horse, owned by Nelson Senderson, was returned to the watering fountain on the public square.
