A number of land options were under drafting Thursday in Marshall township. The McMillan & Sons Company with mills at Peerless is securing options on parcels from four to forty acres. Records not yet filed, but deals fully arranged, could lead to new quarries opening in Marshall if land proves valuable.

Wesley Thompson and Edith Swaford married Thursday at 10 o clock in Justice George O Isemingers office on South J street. They reside in the city and were joined in matrimony by the justice.
Levi Donica a Marshall Township farmer sues William D Clark claiming Clark alienated his wife's affections and seeks 5000 dollars in damages. The trial began Thursday attracting many Marshall Township residents as witnesses and spectators.
Harry Reynolds, an employee of the Black Diamond mill in the northwest part of the city, was seriously bruised Thursday when a heavy stone fell on him. He sustained multiple bruises to the arms knees and ankle with a head laceration. Dr. E E Mitchell attended him and he will be laid up for several days.

The first frost of the season occurred Wednesday night in the bottom land with a light white covering. Early witnesses report tomato tops in the city were nipped by the frost, while others saw only a light glaze.

Elwood Indiana celebrated twenty years since the tin plate industry began there as the McKinley tariff spurred U S production. The industry supports thousands of jobs at good wages and stimulates farm product demand, illustrating protectionist Republican policy.
Mrs. Lavina Ferguson known as Aunt Vina died at her son James I Ferguson home in Bloomfield on Wednesday at age 97. Born in 1816 in Shelby County Kentucky she married James Ferguson in 1855 and moved to Bloomfield in 1836 living in the same house since 1845. She had two sons one of whom Rev William P Ferguson died earlier. she was a longtime Presbyterian and charter member of Bloomfield church. Funeral held this afternoon.
Robert Lee of South M Street is recovering after a serious typhoid bout. He is up much of the time and, barring a second attack, expects to be out in a few days.
