Master Richard Boone Leonard the four weeks old son of Mr and Mrs R B Leonard West 18th street enjoyed his first party Saturday afternoon. The Tri Kappa sorority of which Mrs Leonard is a member planned a surprise shower with dainty articles of wearing apparel for the baby. Guests brought gifts and the mother recovered from the surprise to entertain. The afternoon closed with refreshments and social enjoyment.
Dan O Leary finished a 1000 mile walk at Norwood Inn Cincinnati at 7 am after 1000 consecutive hours one mile per hour. At nearly sixty five he showed no faltering. The feat drew medical interest and may earn him 5000 dollars from the International Tuberculosis Association.
Mrs W T Keifer of West 12th street received many presents last Saturday for her birthday from Mesdames Berry Emery Oscar Bivins Bazil Miller and others including her daughter and grandson. In Mitchell a 17 year old girl of delicate condition is at the center of a murder inquiry. Police found a grave with a infant body buried in a rear lot. Coroner Voyles notes the head wound and decomposed flesh but cannot confirm a cause, calling death by unknown causes likely.
Lizzie Blevins nee Jenkins appears in police court to plead guilty to intoxication after an officer’s affidavit. The judge fines her one dollar plus costs and enforces an old suspended penalty, with Lizzie and her sisters jailed until the sum is paid.

Bedford Lodge 66 hosted about 150 members and guests at Pathfinder Hall for an evening of songs readings and orchestra music. The lodge drill team performed while male members prepared a supper. Fraternal orders from the city attended creating a reunion atmosphere.
