Body of Robert Duncan Found Near Donica School House
Robert S. Duncan a prominent farmer and orchardist in the county was found dead by hanging in a coal shed near the Donica school house nine miles north of the city. He had left his home in Bedford around 5 am and driven directly to the scene. Duncan was 155 years old and had suffered a malignant influenza infection and heart trouble recently. Word comes of the death of Mrs. Margaret Benton Beatty widow of Rev Beattie former First Christian minister here and longtime penmanship teacher. She died in Lincoln Nebraska on April 21 with husband three daughters and one son as survivors. Her family once lived in Bedford where Prof W B Chrisler ran a college in the basement of the Christian church and Beatty taught nearby.
