It promotes Pleasant Pellets as the original Little Liver Pills, sugar coated and easy to take, urging readers to prefer proven remedies over substitutes.
Padgett and Moore of Mitchell and Padgett of Washington lease the Allen property corner at Fifth and Main Vincennes to launch an open air theater named The Red Mill on June 1 offering vaudeville and moving pictures. Building cost about 5000 dollars with a windmill front and 1500 red electric lights. Opening planned early June, with two shade trees to be removed.
Harbert H. Edwards a 55 year old rural mail carrier on Route No 5 died after a fall from his second story window while preparing for bed at the Tolliver home in Bedford. The death followed a head wound and concussion as rescuers found him in a pool of blood on the stone sidewalk. Funeral services were held at the First Christian church with Masonic interment. Edwards was born near Mitchell and was related to local notable Edwardses including the Mitchell postmaster and a state senator.
In Linton a young Marco man named John Dove faces potential charges after Marsh testified Dove wooed his fifteen year old daughter and allegedly threatened her with a knife. The mayor heard both sides and delayed judgment until the girl can testify upon her arrival this afternoon.
Lawrence county Democrats meet to set county convention for July 20 and delegate electing date for July 10. Attorney Albert Field appointed secretary. Large turnout with enthusiasm. many plan to attend the Bloomington congressional convention to back Cy Davis.
Articles of incorporation filed in Indiana for the Bedford Power company with an initial capital of 50 000 dollars, planned to rise to 400 000 dollars. Prominent incorporators include Harry S. New H. A. Mansfield John W. Holtzman and James B Nelson. Local Bedford residents participate. The firm intends to dam the east branch of White river near Williams in Lawrence county and build a power plant to generate electricity and transmit it ten miles to Bedford Cement Company and Bedford quarries.
Leonard N. Woody wed Rose M. Davis at 8 p m Saturday in the home of Mr and Mrs Walter W Day on West Sixteenth street Rev Wilson Whitney of the First Baptist church officiated. Woody is the son of Robert Woody a noted gardener and farmer. Davis is daughter of Mr and Mrs John Gerald of Logan.
United States Senator James A. Hemenway writes to Indiana Senator H. P. Pearson confirming an amendment to raise Bedford Indiana public building funds from 50 000 to 75 000 dollars. The letter says the Senate will likely pass the increased appropriation with Indiana support backing Congressman Chaney in the push.
Washington delegates named by acclamation to Bloomington for Padgett. Davis leads current vote counts with Greene 1% and Owen 2, while Padgett posts 17 for Davis, seven for Owen, and seven for Martin. Delegations from multiple townships, Knox and Sullivan counties to break in balloting. Miers possible on first ballot after Knox. Monroe County endorses Robert W. Miers for Congress with explicit instruction to support him at Bloomington convention.
Lee McGee of Louisville a Purdue student died after falling from a moving freight train near a Lafayette crossing. He and two fraternity brothers boarded the train for adventure en route to a Sigma Nu dance at Bloomington. The train did not stop and his body was found by a passerby. The Bloomington dance was postponed. Moran and Anderson arrived in Bloomington with no knowledge of the tragedy. The incident occurred before McGee had been gone twenty minutes from the chapter house.
Mrs James M Fowler of Lafayette fell eleven votes short of election as vice president general of the D A R at Washington congress. Earlier Indiana’s opposition ticket hurt her bid by aligning against Mrs Donald Mac Lean for president general. Ten vice presidents general were chosen at the session.
A county clerk records a Saturday filing to appoint a commission to inquire into the sanity of Mrs. Linnie May Tucker of Mitchell. The petition alleges she first showed signs of insanity on February 25 aboard a train between Linton and Jasonville and feared for her children's safety.

A tornado in Johnson county Indiana tore through Union Pleasant and White River townships causing widespread destruction. Homes barns and livestock suffered heavy damage with thousand-dollar losses. one 18 year old, Henry Plummer, was injured while several others received minor injuries. Communication lines were down and Franklin was cut off.
