Bowen and Consalus Case Dismissed Over Lawyer Fee

In Judge Stephen son's Court the case of Alfred Bowen against W H Consalus was dismissed Monday as a matter of a lawyer's fee. Belle Smith was arrested for digging potatoes and picking beans in Andy Acton's garden without permission and her trial is set for Tuesday at 2 PM before Judge Stephenson.

Died at Springville Ind Peter Russell 54

Peter Russell died at his home in Springville Indiana on July 14 1900 aged 54 after a life of service in the Union Army beginning in 1865 He married Caroline Perry moved to Springville in 1866 and left no children He was a Baptist member and known as industrious and kind hearted The funeral drew many friends and included the song he last sang Will the Water Be Chilly Uncomplainingly he met the grim monster and lived a soldier’s life until death
