Georgetown Ky January 4 The Caleb Powers jury reported at 12 29 PM that agreement was impossible, standing ten for acquittal and two for conviction on every ballot. Bail was argued for Powers, potentially set at 10000, as the trial ends after seven weeks and 177 witnesses.
County Clerk Leonard issued 287 marriage licenses in 1907, down seven from 1906. Deputy Leonard predicts a leap year surge in 1908 with a busy June and rose-filled prospects, despite offering no firm plans. Logan Suddith seventy six year old Lincoln Nebraska civil war veteran died after a live frog remained in his stomach since swallowing during a visit to Indiana last summer. He expelled the creature by vomiting but collapsed and died from shock.
Mrs. Leo Rienhart aged 23 died Sunday morning at her North H Street home from gastro-enteritis. She is survived by her husband employed at the Southern Indiana shops. The body was taken to Brownstown Monday afternoon for interment scheduled Tuesday.
Finley Gyger appointed by Walter G Owens to fill the unexpired term of the late Theodore Holmes as Mareshall township assessor. Gyger agrees to turn over 50 dollars of salary to Holmes widow or excess over 100 dollars and to share salary with Holmes widow.
