Purcell Family to Move to Mitchell for Engineering Post

Uncle Charlie Knight Hurt After Ice Fall at Stillson House

Uncle Charlie Knight, nearly 87, slipped on ice on the back steps of Mrs Marks at the Stillson house on Stillson Street Friday evening. He fractured two or three lower ribs on the left side from the spinal column and endures intense pain, though his strength remains notable for his age.

Fire destroys 9th street row house linked to famed Schafer case

Fire swept the two room box at 9th street between O and L early Sunday, destroying the home once occupied by Jim McDonald during the Schafer murder case and later by Mrs Lane and three children. The occupants barely escaped as the roof collapsed. All household goods were lost. Origin unknown but likely a faulty flue. The house, owned by Charlie Gainey, valued about $150.
