The W C T U met at the Walls home January 26 wearing green ribbons with pink ribbon guests and husbands. An LT L program followed and Mrs Braxton reviewed 1914 progress. Mothers Meeting topics included Non Alcoholic Medication and dangers of patent medicines. George Fry bought timber land near Jasper. timber sold to U.S. for cannon work. Woolerys reached Tombstone, Arizona safely.

Dean Crook a 32 year old lineman for Louisville and Southern Indiana Traction Company was injured at 10:20 AM while repairing a trolley hanger on Spring street Jeffersonville. Slick snow on his feet caused a fall fracturing his skull. He died soon after at Deaconess Hospital. He leaves a wife and three children and had recently moved to New Albany from Bedford and Mitchell Indiana.
Dean Crook of New Albany died at Deaconess Hospital after falling twenty feet from a ladder onto frozen ballast while working on a trolley wire in Jeffersonville. The 32 year old electrician suffered skull base injury, internal hemorrhage, lung trauma, and fractures. He recently moved to New Albany for work with the Tennis Company on a track contract. Remains likely to be buried at Medora, Indiana, former home of his wife. Mrs. G W House returned from Vincennes with her ailing mother.
Justice of the Peace Oliver McLachlan convened a preliminary hearing in the State of Indiana vs. William Elmer Browning and Frank Evans for the murder of Sarah Schafer. Browning is held to the Grand Jury on a probable guilt finding. Evans is acquitted. The hearing reveals testimony about witnesses, reputations, and alleged misconduct, with further Grand Jury sessions planned.
Seymour Indiana February reports Louis Schneck former state senator died here early Sunday morning of pneumonia after a week of illness. He was seventy four, longtime Seymour resident, former Jackson and Lawrence counties legislator, Mills and bank executive with a large estate.
John C Schafer, father of Sarah Schafer murdered in Bedford, Indiana, declares S B Lowe had no connection to the crime. He remains undecided about Browning and Evans on trial and believes Miss Love is not implicated.
The Supreme Court upholds an 1901 act requiring express companies to deliver packages to consignee residences in cities of 2500 or more. The decision arises from a suit by the State against United States Express for failing to deliver to Thomas A. Gerfart in Kokomo. Also notes Southern Indiana Railway to enlarge Kokomo round house and planned depots at Westport Linton Latta with multiple engines. Frank M. Russell has been ill in Seymour.
