Heavy snow, sleet and rain collapsed the painting shop building owned by N. E. Weimer near 12th street behind the Standard Oil plant. No one was in the structure when it fell, most of it dropping to the ground while a furnace frame kept a portion about three feet from the ground. The weather conditions caused the failure, arousing residents a block away at around 8 am Thursday.

Monroe County Man Charged in Murder Case
Frank Fulford formerly of Monroe County is jailed in Edwardsport charged with the murder of Ben Morgan. The dispute over money led Fulford to pursue Morgan who was shot in the back with a .32 revolver after Morgan turned away. Fulford, a son of Thomas Fulford, is a known figure in the northeast part of the county.
