Elkhart Goshen Attica Fort Wayne and Gary militiamen have landed and six more units are en route. The first arrivals, amused by the quiet city, carry riot guns and are ordered to shoot to kill if necessary.
Washington dispatch says American forces pursued bandits as Car ranzistas aid the search but do not cooperate. The Mexican embassy chief seeks immediate withdrawal of invading forces, while Mexico claims captured aviators landed on its soil.

A Monon special coach arrived from the North and was sidetracked in the yards near the station. Officials D. J. Clark EK A Eskridge P Ferguson and J W Gray toured the Bedford branch of the B and O S W as far as the Blue Hole quarry and signaled plans to control that section and end the branch run after the station closes.

A Pignis event for the Primary Department of the Methodist Sunday School will be held Friday afternoon.
The Primary Department plans its annual picnic Friday at 4pm. Parents or another family member should join at the M E church or West Side School House to march to the grounds. Children should bring lunch for a 6 o'clock dinner. if rain arrives the doors picnic will be at the church.

The preliminary trial of Iall of Bedford for forging checks was held before Justice Shaw. Hall was bound over with $1,000 bond to await the Monroe circuit court term. George Laster of Bloomington is also wanted for forgery and will be passed to local authorities if not convicted.
About seventy five young people attended a Tuesday lawn party at the country home of Miss Marie Chambers northwest of the city. The event honored Miss Lelah Mitchell and guests from Bloomington and the local area enjoyed games and a program of piano and vocal music on a prettily decorated lawn and rooms.
J W Thompson owner of Trinity Springs property plans a 200 room modern hotel east of the bathing pool for 1921 and will place steel on the roadbed built by the late John F Walish while Chicago & Southeastern trains will run to the resort. This fall he will begin erecting ten cottages on the hill east of the springs for summer woodland stays. The season has been the most prosperous yet with the grove crowded and hotels unable to meet demand.
Lieut John R Mitchell and Miss Lucy Meador of Fairfax Virginia were married June 21 in Washington. The ceremony was kept secret until two weeks ago and were to reside with his parents Mr and Mrs J W Mitchell east of the city.

A surprise birthday party was given Monday evening at 8 05 at Bes sie Knott’s West Leth Street home. Eva and Emmett Lavender provided music as Ruth Stansbury Ruth Ford Ruth Kindell Corina Todd Mary Neumeister Bertha Jacobs Dolores Hanners Helen Jacobs Myrtle Jacobs Bessie Knott Louise Knott Walter Inman Lowell Todd Ralph Lindmark Theodore Neu meister Hartman Neu meister Henry Neu meister attended. Ice cream and cake were served and guests wished many more happy birthdays.
Four month old infant son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mando died Thursday at 4 o'clock at their home on West Twelfth Street. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 o'clock from the home. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr and Mrs Charles Leech formerly of Bedford now from Merchantsville New Jersey were in the city this morning traveling to Williams to visit Mr and Mrs Taos Qowest.

A Wednesday picnic at the home of Mrs James Mitchell East of the city honored her daughters Mrs TU Elrod and Mrs Jesse Johnson with Vivian Johnson among many guests. Attendees included Mrs Wat Johnson Mrs Carl Stasney Elsie Thelma Cad Starr Orville Carter Lou Richards and others. The day ended happily with guests returning home late in the evening hoping for another similar gathering.
Tuesday evening a picnic supper was held at the home of Mrs E E Farmer hosted by the Ladies Missionary Society of the First Methodist church. Fifty were present including the Young Ladies Missionary Society as honored guests. The program featured a six member sketch, vocal and instrumental numbers, and readings provided by the young ladies.
Ruby Robbins entertained a group of friends for her 11th birthday Saturday night. Attendees included Bessie Johnson, Mabel Corbon, Virginia, Jeanette and Oleava Taylor, Mabel Turpin, Benza Turpin, Helen Corbon, Wilma Hodze, Katherine Black, Edith and Charlotte Byers from Oolitic. Mrs. Riley Byers received a copy of The Amorac News from her son Ross Trainor, a Coblenz Germany publication dated July 30, noting the First Division’s order home to entrain August 15. Born Tuesday to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lynn at Mrs. Lynn’s mother Mrs. Ghas Parker’s home on West 12th Street.
