Mrs Alice Porter 75 Died at Home of Miss Pearl Kennedy
Mrs. Alice Porter aged 75 died at Miss Pearl Kennedy’s home Thursday morning from complications of diseases. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon with the Order of Eastern Star conducting. Burial was in Hope Kings cemetery. She was born in Ohio and came here when very young. A brother, Ora Melching of St Paul, Minn., survives. The Berry Company opened its merchants show at Owl Pharmacy building last Thursday and will present four act vaudeville programs each Thursday evening through summer with two shows each night until a tent is used.

Second grade students including Rachel McCurdy and Dean Beemer posted 100 in spelling and number work as the class finishes the number booklets. The month brings a Mexican village sand table, simple multiplication and division study, and a lukewarm reception to multiplying and dividing by some boys. Third and fourth graders had perfect spelling marks, while Doroth Beckett and Helen Straight led Conway’s county spelling contest representation in Bedford.
