Sunday School Social At Christian Church

Dr and Mrs M Crew entertained the Come and Join Us class on Tuesday evening with social time and games. The hostess provided refreshments. Three groups of ladies meeting for Methodist welfare work held March gatherings at the homes of Mrs Lulu Parrish Mrs D C Callison and Mrs Lester Whitmore.

Sharpsburg Presbyterian Easter service at 9 45 conducted by Rev Gordon F MacLean of Bedford. Burial of Jud Grimm noted with graveside service in Gravity cemetery. Grimm born 1863 Illinois died 1948 survived by wife eight children 29 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Birthday Party Honors Mary Jo Cochran and Jean Brown

The Intermediate room held a party Friday March 12 honoring Mary Jo Cochran and Jean Brown with birthday games including Virginia Reel and a 4 H folk dance. Mrs Cochran and Mrs Brown served ice cream cake and pop. art classes feature pussy willows in vases and third grade studies focus on China with fourth grade making social studies booklets ready for display.

Pfander family attends funeral services for Jay Grimm

Mrs. Iran Pfander and Mr. Pfander traveled to Osceola on Friday to attend Jay Grimm funeral services. Mr. Pfander returned that evening while Mrs. Pfander stayed to visit her mother Mrs. Jess Dresher. Effie Black of Hamburg is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cochran for a few days this week.

Holt 4 H Club Holds Regular Meeting at Holt Center

Holt 4 H Boys met at Holt Center school house March 16 with eight members present. A follow up gathering is set for Ivyville Hall March 30. Harold Leonard and Darrell Beemer will present a tree demonstration and each family will receive a fruit tree. John Hutner showed a soil conservation picture and a comedy. refreshments were served.
