Vacation Bible School Closes At Christian Church

Twenty nine pupils enrolled in Rural Vacation Bible School and finished with a program Friday evening. Teachers were Miss Louise Miller of Buffalo Center Iowa and Miss Gladyslen Mills of Star Prairie Wisconsin. A group of ten men and women gave the Methodist Church a general house cleaning on Wednesday.

Pine Community Club and Friends Share Summer Socials

Local social notes record the Pine Community Club meeting with eleven members and one guest. Highland Chapter OES votes on a July August break and resumes September 15. Just-A-Mere Club hosts a contest won by Mrs. Charles Shoemaker. other gatherings honor birthdays, elect officers, and extend visitation across Clarinda New Market and surrounding homes. Funeral services were held for Charlie Ridnour in Clarinda with burial at Shearer cemetery. Howard Collins family moved to a new home near Siam. A series of visits and hosts appear across several households in Clarinda Bedford and Conway areas.

Mr and Mrs Harold Campbell and their young son of Wayne Michigan left Sunday after visiting her father Guy Brown and other relatives. En route home they will visit his parents in Missouri. Mr and Mrs Gus Kais of Grinnell were here last week visiting his sister and husband Mr and Mrs Ralph Rutledge. Mrs Joe Cochran accompanied by her sister Miss Felicia Turner who is visiting here.

Spent a Wednesday in Clearfield at the Frank Green home guests attended a birthday dinner honoring their niece Mrs. Vera Brandon. Barbara Eno of Lincoln Nebraska is visiting relatives this week. Mr and Mrs Tom Grimm and Donna Mae joined a Father's Day dinner at Ray Hinton home Lenox. Guy Hinton of Bedford and Tom Grimm of Sharpsburg were honor guests. Mrs Jacob Eicher and daughter Neema of Council Bluffs visited her parents Mr and Mrs Wm Meelay and relatives.

4 H Club Notes and Fair Preparations

Demonstration help for 4-H clubs is being given over the county. With the County Fair the last week in July the 4-H girls are really working. The fair board produced ribbons this year and the nicest prettiest ones seen in years. A new shipment of library books is in the office.
