Fire damages North Star School near Siam
A Friday morning fire damaged the North Star schoolhouse two miles north of Siam while students were home ill with flu. It was discovered and controlled quickly. no major damage and school will be closed for a few days for repairs. Obituary Mrs J M Shields Amelia Walter born 1861 Ohio died Jan 17 1948 in Siam Iowa at 86.

Mr and Mrs Claud Pace of Hillsdale Wyoming and Mrs Lydia Wynn of Barstow California visited the Pace home last week joining Mrs Pace's sister Mrs Conlin Jobe. Lydia Wynn had been visiting her daughter in St Paul. Wynn accompanied the Pace family to Wyoming. Gene Thompson and children of Sheridan Missouri spent Thursday with Mr and Mrs Homer Davison. Mr and Mrs Ted Baldwin and sons of Maryville plus Mr and Mrs Harold Baldwin and family of Hopkins were Sunday dinner guests in Eldon Clayton's home.
