Arnolds Create Unique Christmas Display at Funeral Home

Arnolds on Elm Street showcase a second floor porch scene at the O P Arnold Funeral Home. The display features a large lit fireplace with stockings, a life size Santa, and three wise men on camels over the entrance forming a star like glow. Mrs Stoner shopped in Cres ton Saturday.

Mrs H H Tyler aged 93 longtime Lenox resident died in Des Moines Friday Dec 13 She lived with her daughter and son in law Mr and Mrs Grant McPherrin in Des Moines She was mother of seven seven children four sons three daughters One daughter Mrs D Hamilton of New York predeceased her Body brought to Lenox for funeral at United Presbyterian Church Rev W A Thompson in charge Burial in Lenox Fairview Cemetery Her burial date coincided with the seventy fifth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs H H Tyler.

Obituary: Jim Boltinghouse Dies After Brain Tumor Surgery

Jim Boltinghouse 55 died Friday at Mercy hospital Des Moines after brain tumor operation. Survived by parents Co and Mrs Boltinghouse twelve siblings two sons George and Gail 17 at home. Mrs Boltinghouse died four weeks earlier. Funeral at Christian church Sunday by Rev I G Randels. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Local Team Defeats Orient Hero 46 23

The high school girls junior varsity team defeated the Orient girls on Friday on the local floor by a 46 to 23 score. The hosts led throughout.

The season debut saw the boss team defeat Orient by 23 to 13. Next game is Tuesday at Lenox versus Wiota. Earlier the girls beat Wiota by three. another strong showing is expected. Local coverage notes transfers and community events across Lenox with multiple residents and schedules.

The Harming Circle met with Mrs. Joe Tedford for a gift exchange on Wednesday evening. A Christmas party occurred at Mrs. B. F. Walter’s home on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. J. W. Walter hosted the L. F. C. club with a gift exchange. The Methodist church choir plans a party at Mrs. Rollie Bender’s home Wednesday evening. Mrs. William Barrans hosted the Woman’s Relief Corps on Thursday. Mrs. O. P. Arnold hosted the Thursday girls of the Church of Christ with Mrs. John Drain assisting and a gift exchange. The L. F. T. club held a gift exchange at the Lenox hotel Friday afternoon. Mrs. W. Taylor hosted the Ladies Aid society of the Church of Christ Friday afternoon with a gift exchange. The G. V. C. club met with Mrs. Roy Key Monday evening. A waffle supper was served to young people at the Reynolds home Friday evening hosted by Rev. and Mrs. Kelly and their son.

East Mission Club Holds All Day Meeting

The W. G. C. club, meeting with Mrs. Henry Besco on Thursday December 12, held an all day session. Dinner was served at noon then embroidering tea towels in the afternoon. Two birthdays, Mrs. Paul Blane and Mrs. Elvin Van Reenen, were noted and gifts presented.

Eight members attended the meeting with four husbands present. The Besco family was honored as they move to a new community with Mrs. Besco praised for years of service as secretary treasurer.
