Safety Magic show cautions on teen driving habits
Lt. Carl S. Pike on leave from Michigan's Kent county sheriff's dept warned Bedford students that teen drivers cause the bad name for the group. He presented eight rules to avoid danger and staged tricks from his Safety Magic program funded by the American Trucking Association.

B H S drivers' training classes started with Lyal Shirk supervising night sessions. Four students take turns driving to Shenandoah each evening for about 45 minutes on highways and 10 minutes in city traffic.
