A postnuptial shower was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Bil Bewart to honor the couple. Attendees included Toonne and Dwight Terrill of Bedford Mr and Mrs Bill Stephenson and Jeffry Stroberg of Shenandoah and Mr and Mrs Myron.
The Sunshine Sisters meet Dec 1 with Florence Kemery. Eleven members attend as roll call asks what they'd do if they won a radio jackpot. They plan three grab bags for the Christmas party and contribute to the flower fund while Alta Hennigan entertains with games.
A Christmas pot luck supper is set for Friday December 15. Blockton resident Mina Angeline King, 66, died Sunday at St. Joseph hospital. Her husband Roy C. King is Blockton mayor. She leaves two daughters Ira Ellen Griffith and Donna Hope King, a son Eldon Leroy King, plus siblings and four grandchildren. The body moves to Crew mortuary in Clearfield. Rev. Floyd and Linda Tolby announce Sunday school at 10 a.m. worship at 11 a.m. and service at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Linda Tolby will lead a four act pageant The Gift Divine on Sunday December 24. Fourteen new members joined Blockton Methodist Church after evangelistic services by Rev. Raymond Pierson.
The SIAM NEWS reports the Just A Mere Club met with eight members and five children present. President Mrs George Ox ley oversaw the annual officer election with Eldon Miller as president, Frank Shields as vice president, and Kenneth Damewood as secretary. Next meeting set with Mrs Clem Bashore on December 21 for a mystery gift exchange.
Mrs Roy Kerns reports the 20th Century club met in Sharpsburg with hostesses Mrs Earl Mc Collough and Mrs A C Whipple. Sixteen members answered rol call for a one o clock luncheon on December 8. A Christmas exchange followed a brief business meeting. Rook games at four tables produced score prizes for Mrs Rey Egleston and Mrs Ed Phelan. The January meeting will be at Mrs Tessie Boynsten's home.
Mrs. Warner returns from Deer Park Washington after visiting Mrs. Lela Clark and daughters Eva and Albie. Guests include Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hubbard and Mrs. Jennie Woods of Maryville. Also visiting are Mr. and Mrs. Granville Bennette of Lenox and Mr. and Mrs. Ina Pfander of Qu eeola. The Pfander party will stay with Mrs. Dresher until New Year’s. Sunday visits by Faye Sheley family of Guthrie Center and Ray Hinton Eddie of Conway. Christmas program Friday December 22 at 8 o clock with community evening. Bring table service sandwiches and pie. Third and fourth grades on spelling honor list. Presbyterian Church notes and Sunday School at 10 a.m. Sentence Sermon: Jesus said I am the bread of life he that believeth on me shall never thirst John 6:35.
