Blockton native earns Master of Science at Kansas
Wayne Poor formerly of Blockton received the Master of Science degree from the University of Kansas at summer session end. He will teach in the Los Angeles school system next year and he and his wife plan to move to their new home on September first. The Sunshine Sisters Club gathered at Mrs. Frank Perkins home on August 19 with eight members present.

Grandpa King Dies After Failing Health at 91
N. E. King died Friday noon at his daughter Mrs. Roy King’s home after a summer of weakness. He was 91 years old, long a community elder and a deacon for 50 years. His funeral was Monday at the Christian church in Des Moines burial at Isadora Cemetery.
