High Prairie Kittenball Rivalry and Local Social Notes

The High Prairie kittenball team lost to Old Memory 17 to 20 on Thursday. Milo Whitehead was struck by a bat while catching, suffering a crushed nose, but he played later for New Market at Gravity Saturday. L S H club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Harry Douthit’s, planning a Sunday picnic August 13 at CG Forinda grounds.

Mt Pleasant Social Notes From Iowa City and Omaha Trips

Mt Pleasant residents report travel to Iowa City to fetch Carlos Horton and Ralph Mercer from hospital for examination. Paul Medina visited Omaha for a few days. Arlene Henry of Bedford spent the weekend with Stella Shafer. Fred Wellen and Grandma Weller joined a Norton family reunion in Conway. Gravity residents suffer home raid during homecoming

After attending Gravity’s homecoming, Mr and Mrs George Garrett found their town home opposite Main Street burglarized. Silverware, dishware, bedding, quilts, pillows, and a large amount of fancy work were taken with no clue yet to recover the losses. The note lists numerous local visitors and relatives visiting Gravity for the event.

Home of Nephew Visit by Mr Gaebler and Reed

Frank Gaebler and Cyrus Reed visited the home of his brother J Gaebler and Mo on Wednesday returning Thursday evening with Cyrus Reed who is recovering from an operation. Mrs Lillian Hill of Grand Island Nebraska came Friday and visited at the Mary Hill and C G Hill homes.

Mrs George McPherron hosted the Sunshine Club Thursday afternoon with ten members attending. After the business meeting the rest of the day featured contests. Luncheon was served.

Attendees at an ice cream social at the home of Mr and Mrs Lee Mitchell, and a gathering by the Pleasant threshing circle hosted by Mr and Mrs Charles Firkins. Mr and Mrs Earl Curtis traveled to Colorado while seeking a new location to aid Mrs Curtis's health. Max Shipley visited Des Moines briefley and plans to read Advertisements.
