Attendees Travel to Diagonal Camp for Weeklong Trip
A group led by Rev. Paul McCleave traveled from Sharpsburg to Diagonal on Monday to attend camp for a week. They hosted an ice cream fundraiser at the McCleave home Thursday evening to support the trip. The Friendly Neighbor Club met July 26 with seventeen members and guests Mary Cal Lee and Bill Boyer. activities included singing, devotions, and a tea towel shower for a new member.

Warden Injured After Car Crash Near Alta
Glenn A. Warden employed at Storm Lake sustained severe bruises and shock in a Thursday night car accident and was hospitalized at Alta. His companion, the driver, was killed. Warden’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Averil Warden, went to Alta Friday.

Lenox School Board Hires New Teaching Staff
The Lenox school board completed its teaching staff for the coming term hiring several new teachers. James North will teach agriculture and social science, Mildred Williams home economics and girls physical training, Dillon Holcomb vocal and instrumental music and normal training, Hester Wilson departmental and junior high, Dorothy White fourth grade, and Eloise Bricker pre primer and first grade.

Funeral services for E. E. Kinser 74 were held at Arnold Funeral Home after a several week illness. Rev. Robins officiated. He leaves a wife and daughter Mrs. Evelyn McAdams of Burlington.
