Addressing Unprecedented Troubles and National Defense
A lengthy, period-style address outlines gratitude for health and harvests, warns of foreign interference amid domestic division, and urges Congress to fund a northern rail line, fortify defenses, and support wartime policies. It covers revenue, army and navy organization, court system reforms, claims against China, and plans for colonization and abolition-related issues.
