United Way board keeps funding for Boy Scouts intact
Baytown United Way executive director David Mohlman said the board addressed Elswick and, after discussion, left funding and agency status for the Boy Scouts of America with United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County unchanged. Elswick had suspended his workplace campaign and pulled sponsorship of a United Way kickball tournament supporting kindergarten readiness, but will continue and even increase support for other community groups.

Naked man breaks into Baytown police station
A 21 year old Baytown man was found naked inside the police department offices at 220 West Defoe. He damaged a story window and a water pipe, causing about 40000 dollars in property damage. He was held for evaluation at Harris County Neuropsychiatric Center after criminal trespass charges were dismissed for lack of probable cause.
