Remembering Baytown firefighter Nito Guajardo life and death
Local firefighters recall Guajardo who died in the line of duty on December 20 2004 just weeks from completing his rookie year. He was the third Baytown firefighter to fall in the line of duty and was honored at a memorial in Colorado Springs. Victor Medina spoke of his generosity and Christmas shift plans, while fellow firefighters at Station No 1 described the close family they share and efforts to support Guajardo’s family through tattoos and T shirt fundraisers.
