Ashbel Smith Elementary second graders demonstrated gravity concepts using everyday objects in a hands on performance titled A Tour Through Force and Motion. Teachers Michele Crathirds Aisha Morrison Krista Myer Maria Sanches Ivan deSoza and Becky Griffin led the activity praised as more engaging than textbooks. The school also prepared a Cinco de Mayo Hispanic Heritage Program with dances learned by each grade and scheduled performances at 815 and 915.
The Sterling Stars Drill Team invites boys and girls ages 4 to 14 to a Saturday dance clinic at Ross S. Sterling High School from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The $35 session includes adult supervision and a free lunch. Participants will receive a certificate and may perform at halftime at the LaPorte football game on Sept. 22. Registration starts 8:30 a.m. and Kelley Black at 281-420-4500 ext 257 offers more info.
