History of Roseland Park and its founding
Baytown writer Chris Buckner recalls Roseland Park origins tracing to the Wright Estate donation by Rose Wright Kilgore. He weaves community ties from Wright, Kilgore, Jones, Bayliss, and Busch families, honors Wanda Orton as historian, and notes local figures like John M. Kilgore and Bob Wright. The piece blends memory, research paths, and a spider‑web metaphor for how histories connect.
