Brigadiers To Feature New Drum March Friday
The Lee Brigadiers will perform a new drum march titled Antiphonical Percussion at Friday night’s Gander Spring Branch football game halftime show. Director Carmel Norton notes two drum parts countering each other as the corps forms a diamond then advances in a double block toward the goal line. The 165 member Brigadiers and 191 member REL band are led by Charles Forour and Geaorganne Thompson with Bets Brown as assistant drum major.

210 Sticks Of Dynamite Found In Baytown Cleanup
Assistant Police Chief R W Furner and Sgt Charlie Cowan reported discovering 210 sticks of dynamite at a city dump area in Baytown. A passerby, Lloyd Richardson, found two opened boxes near Barkaloo Road and North Main, delivering them to authorities. The older nitroglycerin crystals on some sticks prompted removal and safe destruction Friday. The dynamite, if exploded, could wipe out a city block. Police are studying tire tracks at the Barkales Readying scene for clues.
