Mrs. J. B. Carter, retiring president of Solomon Barrow Chapter Daughters of the Republic of Texas, is appointed to the administrative committee by Mrs. M. M. O'Dowd of Waco. Carter will serve on the Cradle committee for a two year term. The Cradle in Galveston served as a law office and later a library. Baytown chapter numbers over 70 members and will begin meetings in October.
