Gift funds boost Baytown Lions Crippled Children's Camp

Before his death in April Baytown resident George Bland never missed a Lions Club meeting. A $150,000 estate gift designated to the Lions Crippled Children's Camp in Kerrville will be held in perpetuity to aid disabled children, with an additional $27,000 to follow. Bland, a longtime Exxon Mobil employee, left 1,020 shares and $60,000 to the camp and supported charitable causes throughout his life.

The family of Barney Ross Goodman offers 5000 dollars for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of his killer. Museum to Close for Repair Work

Baytown Historical Museum will be closed for at least two weeks as repair crews fix a broken pipe in the ceiling. Construction began Tuesday with staff moving exhibits and protecting treasures on Saturday to prepare for the work, according to museum director Wanda Mitchell.

Baytown Bridge Club honors Life Master Charles Tillery
