Waste Disposal Plan Hearing Set Oct 15
Public hearing on establishing an industrial solid waste disposal facility at the old Cordell Brick Co. site on Interstate 10 south of Mont Belvieu is set for 10 am October 15 at Chambers County Courthouse in Anahuac. The move followed a request from Barber’s Hill Lewel Board and involves International Disposal Corp. a Browning Farms Industries subsidiary.

Sheldon School Denies Student Transfer
A board hearing is set for Sept. 9 on Brenda Sue Johnson a 13 year old rejected transfer to Sheldon School. Attorney James B Manley says the action violates Texas Education Code by denying admission to a transfer student who lives outside the district and is under guardian guardianship. Sheldon School Superintendent Lloyd T Dickens states the district policy requires the parents reside in the district and does not recognize guardianship as a basis for admission without a court order.
