Earnings fail to meet investors expectations in year
Investors overbid stocks this month hoping for strong third quarter earnings. With two thirds of the S and P 300 reporting, 87 percent met or beat forecasts, but overall results still lagged expectations by about 6.4 percent. Analysts warn the rally may ease as growth looks capped and fourth quarter prospects dim.
